WHERE IT STARTED

Before longevity
became a movement,
it was my everyday life.

I was born in 1997 into a family immersed in functional medicine. Conversations about health, testing and how the body works were part of growing up.

Nordic Laboratories and Nordic Clinic were part of that world from the beginning. I watched the companies develop, met the people around them and saw how questions about an individual’s health could become the starting point for a service, a product or an entirely new business.

That gave me an early interest in both sides of the industry: what we can learn about health, and what it takes to build companies that turn that knowledge into something people can use. It is the connection I still work with today.

01 / THE FIRST BUSINESS

Eleven years old.
Organic nuts.
A stand of my own.

My first company was nut.dk. I started it at the age of 11, selling organic nuts from Sicily to customers in Denmark. Long before I was thinking about portfolio strategy or the longevity industry, I was taking products to health exhibitions and meeting the people who might buy them.

The lessons from nut.dk

The business was small, but it was real. It put me on the other side of the exhibition stand, with something of my own to explain and sell. Nutrition, health and entrepreneurship were already connected in my life.

Looking back, those early exhibitions belong to the same journey I am on now. I still spend a great deal of time around founders, products and customers, trying to understand what people value and how a business can deliver it.

02 / FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE & GENETICS

Learning to ask
better questions.

As Nordic Laboratories developed, so did the range of questions the business helped practitioners explore. The work extended across genetics, hormones, toxins, gastrointestinal function, fatty acids and nutrient deficiencies. Testing was a central part of understanding the person behind those questions.

Functional medicine and DNA Life

Growing up around Nordic Laboratories and Nordic Clinic meant seeing the laboratory and clinical sides of that process together. A test was never only a result on a page. There was also the question of how a practitioner would interpret it, explain it and use it within a person’s care.

In 2012, DNA Life became part of that story, with a focus on genetic testing. Its portfolio now spans more than ten genetic tests, designed to help practitioners use genetic insights in healthcare. It is an area that has continued to shape my interest in a more individual approach to health.

That background influences the questions I bring to a business today. What does it help someone understand? How is that information used? How do we make a complex subject clear enough for practitioners and customers to engage with it?

03 / NUZEST · SCANDINAVIA · 2019

Taking a health brand
into a new market.

In 2019, I played a pivotal role in bringing Nuzest’s pea protein and nutrition products into Scandinavia. My work included building a social media platform and a presence for the brand in the Scandinavian market.

It was a different perspective on the health business. A product can have a clear identity in one market and still need to find its voice in another. Reaching people, explaining the proposition and building a recognisable presence became part of the work.

Nuzest brought my interests in nutrition, communication and commercial development together. It also gave me experience I continue to draw on when thinking about how a health company grows beyond its existing audience.

04 / THE WORK TODAY

In the mix
of the businesses
building future health.

I work as Portfolio Director at Nordic Group, across a landscape that brings functional medicine, diagnostics, nutrition and health technology together. My role sits between the strategy and the practical challenges of making the companies work.

My role across the businesses

That includes working with subsidiary businesses, helping them navigate operational questions and supporting their development. At Functional Future, I am involved from a strategy perspective, helping shape direction and taking on the challenges that come with building a health business.

Our wider company and investment landscape includes Functional Future, ThermoCheck, DSruptive Subdermal, Innovative Pet Lab and BeUNO Pet. The mix extends beyond one category or one type of customer, while keeping a shared interest in the future of healthcare.

I spend much of my time connecting those different worlds. A conversation can move from a laboratory service to a consumer brand, from human health to animal health, or from a new technology to the realities of running a company. The work is varied, and it keeps the commercial questions grounded in what each business actually needs.

The ambition is to keep building and investing in companies that can make a difference. For me, that means staying close to the people doing the work and understanding how an idea becomes something that can reach a customer, a practitioner or a patient.

THE ACADEMIC FOUNDATION

Business education.
Practical application.

Alongside growing up in the industry and working in its businesses, I studied at Copenhagen Business School. My education includes a BSc in International Business and an MSc in Managing Innovation and Business Development.

That combination has shaped how I approach my work: an interest in the science and the people, supported by a business perspective on strategy, innovation, business development and how companies operate.

05 / PERSONAL CURIOSITY

I’ve always
tested myself.

Testing has been a constant in my life. I have spent years exploring my own health through functional testing and trying to understand what the information can tell me. It is a personal interest as well as a professional one.

Testing, cognition and everyday habits

I have travelled internationally to explore longevity interventions, with a particular focus on cognitive performance and cognitive optimisation. I am interested in how we feel, think and function, and in the different approaches people are developing to understand those experiences.

My curiosity also reaches beyond testing and technology. Sauna is a regular part of my week, often several times a week. It is one of the routines I value personally and keep returning to.

I bring that firsthand curiosity into the conversations I have with founders and practitioners. My experiences give me questions to ask and ideas to examine. They are part of my own journey, rather than a promise that the same approach will suit everyone.

06 / ALWAYS IN THE CONVERSATION

On the exhibition floor.
Across the table.
Behind the microphone.

I attend around ten trade shows a year, exploring new products, technologies and approaches to health. I travel to events, speak with the people building these companies and try to understand what is changing across different markets.

Those conversations are part of why I created The Business of Longevity. The podcast gives me a place to go deeper with founders, executives and independent thinkers: how they got started, what they believe, what has been difficult and how they are building their businesses.

My experience in the industry shapes the questions. My curiosity keeps the conversation open. I want listeners to come away with a clearer understanding of the people behind health innovation and the decisions that turn their ideas into businesses.
